As some of you already know, I have a whole month of January off from work, which all happened (the timeline) in the last few weeks. As I start planning what I am going to do with this blank canvas of one month that I got, I thought sharing updates along the way will be fun - for me at least, not sure for you. Rather than sharing pictures on platforms that suck your time or occupying your storage by sending photos through texts, I decided to commit to a silly email series. It’s going to be a casual snack kind of read - I’m guessing mostly savory than sweet but let’s see - I hope to land on the good sweet spot of "not too sweet". Just don’t expect much nutritional value or grammatical rigor.
Here is the plan so far. I’m going on an almost-cross-country roadtrip for three weeks starting from January 8th, Savannah, Georgia. The driving route will go through Southern states and finish at Utah for the latter half of Sundance film festival. Currently I have flight tickets (SF>Georgia and Utah>SF), Sundance festival package, and Sundance festival lodging booked so far.
One caveat to add is that I’m doing this trip with my boyfriend Connor (ta-da). Some of you have met him, some of you have not. We have known each other for only three months now, but don’t worry he won’t murder me in the middle of nowhere.
Connor and I on the top of a lighthouse this Wednesday - note that he had enough chance to murder me but did not. Unlike some other lighthouse attendees we know.
On top of the self-assured fact that he won’t murder me, we thought it’s such a rare chance that both of us will have this long chunk of time off from work together, and we are happily delusional enough that we are convinced we are going to have a blast together. We hope to get to know parts of America we have not known much and to have enough space for musings and art-markings along the way.
I will still be in San Francisco next week, doing a mix of prepping for the trip and some combination of reading, hiking, seeing people and god knows what.
Okay enough writing in English for today.
With care,
Kye
